workshop on Leadership at Saramati School Kiphire

imageThe peace channel, Kiphire region organized one day workshop on Leadership at Saramati School Kiphire. It was organized for the Peace Channel club leaders of the district, with the objective to empower and capacitate the youth to be peace lovers.

Mr. G. kirithong Sangtam, Executive Chairman United Sangtam Student’s Conference was the chief Guest of the program. In his message he exhorted the young peace members, saying that Peace is the need of the hour. It is the peace builders who are going to change the society. Today the society needs young peace soldiers who are daring to stop violence and bring future to the present generation. He also spoke about the consequences of war and violence that had taken place in the history.

Rev. Fr. C. P. Anto the Director of Peace Channel spoke on the role of youth in building peace in the region. He was so delighted to recollect the past incident that took place in 1997 at Kiphire, which inspired him to start the peace movement called Peace Channel. Having interacted with the youth in the region they unanimously said that they can bring peace and harmony among different tribes and communities. They also said that peace and development is the need of the hour. We need to work together to achieve them, they added. The students expressed their happiness about the program they also said that this kind of program boosts their confidence, leadership and the spirit of team work. Over the entire program was rated as one the most interesting program as stated by Mr. Jheothoi. All together the program was attended by 45 student leaders from El- Beth School, Holy Cross, Trinity School, Saramati School and Good Shephard from Kiphire town. Mr. David Neikha coordinator Kiphire District welcomed the gathering. Mr. Boss, principal Saramati School pronounced the benediction.
